There is no such thing as a product that sells itself. You have to make it happen.
Here are six ways to do that.
Ask your friends for your help. If they aren’t willing to help, are they even your friends?
Ask for warm intros where you can. Frame your pitch so that you’re gathering information and not implicitly selling.
Retweets are free. Sharing on LinkedIn is free. Telling other people is free.
This topic is played out, but it’s seriously a cheat code for SaaS founders. An audience of interested people is the most valuable asset in the attention economy.
The more you share about your journey, the more value that you create for yourself.
Content ➡️ authority ➡️ trust ➡️ sales
For every group of customers, they already have a place to hang out and exchange ideas and thoughts on the internet. It’s on you to find out where that is.
These online communities will give you access to countless ideas, people, potential beta customers, and other resources.
Do not insert yourself immediately by shamelessly pitching your product. Add value to the group as a whole, and you’ll be rewarded.
Email is a form of owned audience. You control communication with your audience directly, and you aren’t at the mercy of platforms (unless we’re talking about Google / Gmail, but that’s a longer discussion).
If you can capture emails before you launch, you can keep potential customers interested by providing updates and other sources of value.
